La Forêt & Le Parc are two semi-detached gîtes in the outbuildings of the Château de Bourneau. They allow you to retain your privacy but if you wish, the two cottages can communicate through a gate between their gardens which will give you direct access from one cottage to the other.
ABOUT LE PARC
At its name suggests, this holiday cottage directly faces the Château de Bourneau’s park and wild flower meadow. It was originally the château’s stable and the building still retains the old wooden beams and part of the original animal manger. All 4 bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. Its private swimming pool, hidden in its walled garden, will ensure total privacy and allow you to make the most of France’s second sunniest region. The large open-plan living room opens directly onto a private garden with its own swimming pool, ping-pong table, barbecue and terraced dining area. The large kitchen with a trestle dining table, also opens directly onto the garden, which is ideal when preparing outdoor meals under the terrace. A second living room with its open fireplace will welcome you for relaxing moments. This cottage is perfect for 6 adults and 2 children with its quirky mezzanine twin-room hidden in the rafters.
ABOUT LA FORÊT
This holiday cottage was once the original bakery to the Château de Bourneau and still retains lovely period features such as the wooden beams of the sitting room, the upstairs striped wooden floors and the large fireplace. The main house sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms but there is also a detached garden-maisonette with 2 extra bedrooms that is ideal for a couple with young children who are looking for a bit of calm away from the rest of the party. The main house and the garden maisonette meet around the private garden and swimming pool. The open-plan ground floor of the main cottage is where most of the social rooms are found: the cosy living room with its grand fireplace and the dining room that leads into the kitchen. The kitchen also has direct access to the garden – perfect for organising a meal by the poolside under the garden terrace. Upstairs there are 2 twin bedrooms with a centrally shared bathroom and a generous master bedroom with an ensuite. This is a ground floor level 2 bedroom cottage with a shared “Jack & Jill” bathroom in between. Both bedrooms have French windows that open up directly into the garden.

BOOKING
You can book our cottage directly through our website. Simply enter your dates, the number of adults and children to start a search and find the most suitable cottage for you. Once you have filled in the information and read our terms and conditions, you will be able to make a payment. We ask for a non-refundable 50% deposit to secure the booking, the balance will be processed automatically four weeks before your arrival. Upon booking, you will receive a confirmation email summarising your booking details and giving you access to our tourist guide. Remember to check your Spam folder and to forward this information to the rest of your group.
ARRIVAL
Check-in is strictly from 16:00. Access codes of the property gate and the cottage keysafe will be sent via email 24hrs before your arrival. Any additional services must be pre-paid before being granted access to the cottage.
PARKING
A car park is at your disposal behind the holiday cottages. Follow the path on the right before the château. We do not accept camper vans or tents on the property.
CHECK OUT
On the day of your departure, we ask you to be ready for check-out at 10:00 and to leave the cottage in a reasonable state. Departure on Sundays can be up to 17:00 without any surcharge.
CLEANING & TOURIST TAX
Because we wish you to have a relaxing stay, we take care of the cleaning and also tourism taxes. Please do leave the cottage in a reasonable state, take out the bins and empty the fireplaces/BBQ ashes into the steel buckets provided. We also provide a selection of essential cleaning products such as washing-up liquid, floor detergent, glass cleaner and surface cleaner.
GARDEN & SWIMMING POOL
Each cottage has its own gated private garden with their own private swimming pool. They are equipped with an automatic alarm for your safety. Our swimming pools are unheated and open from May until mid-September. They are cleaned before your arrival. Deck chairs are also provided. Each cottage is equipped with a BBQ so do remember to bring your own charcoal if you wish to enjoy a BBQ in the sunshine. On the day of departure, we simply ask you to empty the BBQ and place the ashes in the steel bucket provided. You will also find in each cottage a table tennis table, rackets and balls.
LAUNDRY & TOWELS
We provide all bed linen and a large and a small towel per person for bathroom use ONLY (please pack your own swimming pool towels). Upon arrival, your bed will be made. We are proud to support a local community charity for all our laundry and ironing services.
INTERNET
Our property receives 4G signal and we have recently installed Wi-Fi in all the holiday cottages.
THE PROPERTY
The château is our private home and restoration project and is unfortunately not open to the public. However, our guests are welcome to enjoy the 16 hectares of the Château de Bourneau Estate. You can go for a run in our woods or relax and enjoy the view at the ruined orangery with a good book.
TV & READING ROOM
Each cottage has a TV and reading area. We provide a selection of DVDs, games and books.
BABY
All our cottages are equipped with a cot, a high chair and a baby bath. Please let us know if you require a cot sheet.
OTHER EQUIPMENT
The kitchens of all cottages are equipped with 2 fridge-freezers, a gas hob, an oven and a microwave. We also provide a kettle, a filter coffee machine and a toaster. Each cottage has its own dishwasher, washing machine, clothes drying rack, iron & ironing board and hairdryer.
BEHAVIOUR AND NOISE
The property is located in the heart of the village of Bourneau. These are family friendly cottages and we therefore ask our clients to be respectful to our neighbours and other clients by keeping noise to a minimum. We do not allow music outside and no noise after 10pm is tolerated.
