La Forêt & Le Parc are two semi-detached gîtes in the outbuildings of the Château de Bourneau. They allow you to retain your privacy but if you wish, the two cottages can communicate through a gate between their gardens which will give you direct access from one cottage to the other.
ABOUT LE PARC
At its name suggests, this holiday cottage directly faces the Château de Bourneau’s park and wild flower meadow. It was originally the château’s stable and the building still retains the old wooden beams and part of the original animal manger. All 4 bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. Its private swimming pool, hidden in its walled garden, will ensure total privacy and allow you to make the most of France’s second sunniest region. The large open-plan living room opens directly onto a private garden with its own swimming pool, ping-pong table, barbecue and terraced dining area. The large kitchen with a trestle dining table, also opens directly onto the garden, which is ideal when preparing outdoor meals under the terrace. A second living room with its open fireplace will welcome you for relaxing moments. This cottage is perfect for 6 adults and 2 children with its quirky mezzanine twin-room hidden in the rafters.
ABOUT LA FORÊT
This holiday cottage was once the original bakery to the Château de Bourneau and still retains lovely period features such as the wooden beams of the sitting room, the upstairs striped wooden floors and the large fireplace. The main house sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms but there is also a detached garden-maisonette with 2 extra bedrooms that is ideal for a couple with young children who are looking for a bit of calm away from the rest of the party. The main house and the garden maisonette meet around the private garden and swimming pool. The open-plan ground floor of the main cottage is where most of the social rooms are found: the cosy living room with its grand fireplace and the dining room that leads into the kitchen. The kitchen also has direct access to the garden – perfect for organising a meal by the poolside under the garden terrace. Upstairs there are 2 twin bedrooms with a centrally shared bathroom and a generous master bedroom with an ensuite. This is a ground floor level 2 bedroom cottage with a shared “Jack & Jill” bathroom in between. Both bedrooms have French windows that open up directly into the garden.
